Bay Area commuting will be required daily from your home to the job site and/or office. DRS will provide a car allowance or company vehicle depending on the position.
The Candidate MUST:
1. Have at least one (1) year of experience in installation, programming and/or servicing: locks, burglar alarms, security systems, pedestrian/vehicle gates and/or conduit.
2. You must live within sixty (60) miles of Hayward, CA, and be OK with daily driving in the Bay Area. We need road warriors!
3. Have a clean DMV record and pass background check and drug test.
You will be responsible for installing, programming and./or servicing and troubleshooting low-voltage systems including: Access Control, Burglar/Intrusion Alarm, Fire, Call Box/Intercom/Telephone Entry and Vehicle Gate Operators.
Experience in these manufacturers a plus: 2 GIG, 2N, Ademco, Aiphone, Alarm.com, Axis, Brivo, DSC, Digital WatchDog, DoorKing, Exacq, FireLite, HikVision, Honeywell, Isonas, Kantech, Keri, Latch, Lensec, LiftMaster, Linear, Micrcom, My Video Intercom, OpenEye, Qolsys, S2, SecuraKey, SwiftLane, Tyco Cloud, Vista and Door Locking Hardware Manufacturers.
Compensation: DOE but ranges from $60,000 - $90,000 plus bonus, and includes Company Car or Mileage Reimbursement, Paid Vacation and Holidays, Medical Benefits, 401K, Cell Phone, Etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES and REQUIREMENTS
The Candidate must:
- Possess critical thinking skills as well the ability to effectively read, write and communicate with customers, management, and co-workers.
- Install systems per scope of work, drawings/plans, and manufacturer requirements.
- Be comfortable with a smartphone or laptop to file field reports for each job, program, etc.
- Complete, maintain, and submit project/service documentation daily before the end of the shift.
- Be self-motivated, work independently and with others, have a strong work ethic, high-quality standards of work, a positive approach, and present a professional image.
- Submit accurate and complete time cards (online) on a daily basis.
- Adhere to company, customer, and industry safety standards and regulations.
- Accommodate other responsibilities as assigned.
- Not use tobacco products in a company vehicle, company property, or customer property unless there is a designated tobacco use area.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
The Candidate must:
- Possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess a Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record, safe driving practices, and the ability to handle heavy traffic conditions safely and calmly.
- Know or be willing to learn industry and company codes, standards, and best practices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Candidate must:
- Be able to work at elevated heights, work from a ladder and lift, work in confined spaces and lift up to 60 pounds.
- Be able to see and distinguish different colors, read the small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
- Be drug-free and pass a criminal background check.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to the items listed above, the ideal candidate:
- Will have an extensive working knowledge of field electronics, computer hardware, software, and data networks.
- Be able to program, test, and commission systems, train customers and close out jobs.
- Be able to service/troubleshoot existing systems needing repair.
- Be able to install electrified door locking hardware.
- Provide leadership and/or project management on projects.
- Act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s).
BASIC TOOLS REQUIRED BY EMPLOYEES
Screwdrivers, drill, drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (adjustable, needle nose, lineman), cable stripper, insulated crimping tool, flashlight, and gloves. Multimeter, butt-set, toner/wand, coax compression, and/or hex crimp tool.
