Qualifications/Registration
Essential criteria
- Current HCPC Registation as a Biomedical Scientist
- Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Science or MSc/Specialist Portfolio/equivalent qualifications and/or experience
Desirable criteria
- Chartered Scientist
- Other health related supervisory or management qualification
- Teaching qualification
- Mentoring qualification
- Higher Specialist Diploma
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential criteria
- Advanced practical and theoretical knowledge in one or more areas of the discipline
- Analytical judgement and technical skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge and application of quality systems, with particular reference to UKAS standards, Health & Safety requirements for Pathology
- Good team working, with ability to form effective working relationships
- Significant IT literacy
- Experience of Laboratory Information Systems
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Leadership skills, interpersonal and people management skills
