The Stockport District Commander is seeking applications for a Secretary/PA. For this role you will need to be highly motivated and flexible, with the ability to work under extreme pressures and tight deadlines.

The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual, who will provide a comprehensive secretarial and personal assistant service to the Divisional Territorial Commander and the 5 divisional Superintendents which will include; diary management, actioning incoming mail and email, maintaining filing systems, arranging, preparing the agenda and taking minutes of meetings as well as dealing with telephone and message queries.

They will possess the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both in writing and verbally whilst working in a dynamic environment and with issues of a confidential nature. You will need to respond consistently at a high standard even when faced with tasks outside normal scope of work.

Experience as word processor operator and shorthand/typist is essential as is experience of audio typing. You should be able to achieve 35 wpm minimum.

Experience of developing and implementing administrative systems and of using software packages, including spreadsheets and databases are also essential to this post.
