We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to inspire and educate secondary school students in the fascinating world of science. Start Date: September 2023 Position Type: Full-time Salary; £25,000 - £40,000 per annum Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive science lessons to students at the secondary school level. Teach a range of science disciplines, such as biology, chemistry, and physics, based on the curriculum requirements. Foster students' curiosity and critical thinking skills through hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and discussions. Develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth. Promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and supported. Utilise technology and other resources to enhance the teaching and learning experience. Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and promote cross-curricular connections. Stay updated with advancements in scientific research and educational practices. Supervise and support students in practical laboratory work and experiments. Participate in departmental meetings and school-wide events. Support students' personal and social development, acting as a positive role model. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification in Science Education. In-depth knowledge of the science curriculum, including biology, chemistry, and physics. Passion for science education and the ability to inspire and engage students. Excellent classroom management skills to create an environment conducive to learning. Ability to differentiate instruction and cater to students with diverse abilities. Commitment to fostering students' scientific inquiry skills and critical thinking abilities. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school. Willingness to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities or initiatives. Commitment to continuous professional development in science education.
