About the platform
Personalised Experiences and Communications (PEC) is a business platform that sits within Consumer Relationships. Which plays a critical role in supporting the achievement of the Groups strategic priority to grow by protecting and deepening customer relationships. We enable & deliver personalised customer communications & experiences across all channels, media and business areas supporting the Customer Relationship Growth strategy to deepen relationships with our customers across both the Retail & Commercial bank. This includes the data, analytics, and technology to unlock the value of differentiating our branded channel experiences, proposition, price and communication; as well as achieving our paper-free sustainable ambitions.
Key Objectives for the Platform
Simplify and modernise our technology estate to enable internal flexibility and increase responsiveness to evolving customer needs.
Improve customer experience and support the Bank’s sustainability ambitions by delivering compelling, reliable, safe paperless communications.
Enable two-way, seamless, multi-channel customer experiences that are differentiated, data-led and personalised - in line with the broader Group Conversational Banking and Channel strategies.
Deliver engaging, empathetic communications that are tailored to individual customer needs and provided via their preferred channel.
As a Scrum Master Chapter Lead you’ll operate at Lab level as a change agent with a passion for coaching colleagues and teams to help them reach their best and deliver their best for customers and the bank. You’ll encourage your Lab’s understanding of Agile frameworks, metrics, principles and practices, and support them to establish their ways of working, to self-manage and continuously improve in delivering value safely. In summary your role as a scrum master is to help the team improve how they deliver, and flow at a sustainable pace.
Here’s where you’ll make a difference:
Drive the Lab’s usage of relevant Agile frameworks (Scaling, Scrum, Kanban etc) to fit the work
Drive a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement
Coach and empower the Lab to self-manage, utilise feedback for continuous learning and improvement in efficient and incremental value delivery
Coach Lab leads and team members in cross functional teams to increase visibility of the Lab’s workGuide the lab to break work into small, discrete pieces of value or learning.
Promote best practices in areas including refinement, metrics, prioritisation, stakeholder engagement and tools and techniques. Drive their implementation where appropriate
Enable the team to understand and visualise the optimal sequence of work, measure and understand their performance through metrics (throughput, cycle time, happiness etc) and use this as the basis for their improvement activity
Work alongside other Lab representatives to ensure that the flow of the true end-to-end value delivery cycle is understood and appropriately managed
Coach and support the lab to identify blockers/barriers to effective delivery and champion their removal as a priority activity
Lead Scrum Master community within Lab and participate in cross lab improvements to their ways of working to help improve efficiency. Share best practice across these groups
Line management of the Scrum Masters, including helping them increase their capability to achieve their best and provide other line management support as required
What we need from you:
Learning/curious mindset, energy, and enthusiasm for creative disruption and to continuously strive to improve the organisation, platform lab, the quality of deliverables, and your knowledge and skills
Strength in creating, presenting and utilising flow metrics, especially through JIRA
Extensive knowledge and understanding of Agile frameworks (such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean), and practical experience of working in a variety of Agile environments
Extensive practical experience of techniques to improve teams’ ways of working
Knowledge and experience of other techniques that support Agile working such as Devops, Lean, System Thinking, Queueing Theory, Complex Adaptive systems, Theory of Constraints/Critical Chain
