JOB TITLE: Scrum Master
SALARY: £61,641 to £75,339
LOCATION(S): Leeds
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in our Lovell Park office. In addition the team do travel to London to meet the wider team on a monthly basis.

Stratos a key bank programme is at a pivotal stage in delivering against its strategy; to provide an Internal Developer Platform incorporating self-serve golden paths that streamline the rapid creation of Cloud resources to enable and improve the Developer Experience & productivity.

We're looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join a team of enthusiastic Scrum Masters working together on Stratos and aligned to the Management Services team within Cloud Enterprise Platform. Operating at team level as a change agent, you'll have a passion for working with people and teams to help them reach their best and deliver their best for customers and the bank.

From the scrum master, we're looking for someone who is nurturing in their approach, brings Agile to life for their teams and is a people person who sees their team members as individuals with their own strengths. Someone who is open to learning, open to challenging and voicing their opinion in a constructive manner, as well as someone who helps the team deliver more value, more quickly at pace and essentially brings their team with them in a modern collaborative approach.

You'll receive support from your line manager will support less experienced team members in the lab. You’re also encouraged to contribute to the wider Scrum Master community, sharing knowledge and great practice.
As a Scrum Master you'll:
  • Support the Team and Lab to understand and utilise Agile frameworks (Scaling, Scrum, Kanban etc) and Agile events (Scrum of Scrums, PI planning, retrospectives etc) to understand the value and purpose of them.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Product Lead and team to ensure a healthy prioritised backlog, including customer change and internal improvements.
  • Guide the team to break work into small, discrete pieces of value or learning.
  • Promote best practices in refinement, prioritisation, stakeholder engagement and introducing tools and techniques.
  • Coach and empower the team to self-manage, utilise feedback for continuous learning and improvement in efficient and incremental value delivery.
  • Through the use of Jira, enable the team to understand and visualise the optimal sequence of work, measure and understand their performance through metrics (throughput, cycle time, happiness etc) and use this as the basis for their improvement activity.
  • Promote psychological safety and wellbeing creating a safe, trusting, and open environment for the team.
  • Coach and support the team to identify blockers / barriers to effective delivery and remove these.

What you'll need:
  • Strong proven experience and knowledge and understanding of Agile Frameworks (such as the Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SaFE) and has practical experience of working in Agile environments.
  • Knowledge and some experience of other techniques that support Agile working, such as Dev Ops, Lean, System Thinking, Queueing Theory, Complex Adaptive systems, Theory of Constraints / Critical Chain.
And any experience of these would be really useful:
  • Scrum Master Certification – PSM1 or equivalent is desirable however support will be available to achieve this.
  • Optionally but very helpful, knowledge of Public Cloud Azure or Google Cloud Platform or any certifications in either cloud
