SUMMARY
Do you have a passion for supporting individuals, teams and organisations as they mature and improve their ability to produce valuable products?
We have an opportunity for someone to train up as a Scrum Master, joining an existing product team delivering a product for a long-standing client relationship.
You will be working closely with our Agile Coach to support and optimise Agile practices for a large, cross-functional team. As you become more confident in your Agile knowledge, we will expect that you will be the primary Agile point person for the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well
- identify obstacles and help the team to overcome them
- Focus the team on what is most important to the delivery of products and services
- Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team
- Facilitate team meetings and events
- Keep project reporting up to date for the wider business
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to handle sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact
- Empathy: Considering team and/or individual circumstances and context
- Encouraging & facilitating collaborative behaviour and quality communication within the team and wider business stakeholders
- Impeccable organisation skills
- Instilling a continual improvement culture that uses empirical evidence to ‘inspect and adapt’ ways of working
- Data Driven decision making skills
- Sense of humour!
Nice to haves:
- Knowledge of Product management software and Atlassian systems, such as Jira & Confluence
- Some knowledge of Agile, technical best Practices such as Continuous Integration and Delivery, Test Driven Development, pair programming and test automation, or Product Design environments
- Experience working in a client/vendor relationship
Things you’ll learn:
- Various Agile methodologies, include Scrum, Kanban/Lean, and scaling Agile practices
- Ability to motivate, coach and inspire teams with varying levels of Agile experience: upholding the Agile values & principles and promoting Agile as a mindset and culture first and foremost
- Coaching and supporting people in adjusting to and embracing change, challenging the status quo when needed
- Influencing internal and external stakeholders who were not accustomed to Agile methodologies to adopt a more agile approach
