Reporting to: Business Applications Manager
Location: London, E14 9SR - our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office.
You’ll make sure that the delivery teams are working to their peak efficiency – by removing impediments, shielding the teams from unnecessary distractions, resolving conflicts and helping to build an environment where problems can be raised openly without fear.
The role will act as a servant leader, enabling the delivery teams to deliver the best possible work. You’ll also facilitate all meetings, including the standard Agile ceremonies. This would include Agile estimation and planning, forecasting results based on the recorded velocity.
You’ll be responsible for enforcing the rules, whilst facilitating discussion and assisting with external communication. You’ll work very closely with the product owners, the application management managers as well as of course the delivery teams themselves.
Key responsibilities
- ensuring that the delivery teams follow the agreed SDLC
- set up and facilitate all Agile meetings / ceremonies
- facilitating backlog management with the Product Owners
- facilitating sprint planning
- reporting on the availability, velocity and burndown of the delivery teams
- shielding the teams from unnecessary distractions and allowing them to concentrate on the committed sprint contents
- delivering on your own objectives in line with our values – and working collectively with the wider team to contribute to our commitments as a whole
- making sure we’re delivering a fair and efficient service, that reflects the diversity of our customers and our people, through everything we do
Minimum Criteria
- having an in-depth knowledge of Agile or Scrum practices
- Working closely with the product owners, BAs and other project teams as needed
- Supporting the team’s delivery as needed.
- experience of conflict resolution and facilitation
- Desirable experience in SAFE and managing of releases.
- being able to prioritise a varied workload in a fast paced environment
- having strong influencing and relationship management skills — you’ll guide colleagues on best practice and make sure they’re following procedure
- being motivated and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as working effectively in a team
- prioritising and organising your own workload – you’ll be reprioritising wherever needed, while also following things up and taking ownership for moving things as far forward as possible at all times
- being approachable and collaborative, and working well as part of a team
- having great attention to detail, administrative skills and being accurate
