We have a great opportunity for a Scientist within Method Development. The purpose of this role is to organise and execute a variety of lab-based tasks to a high standard and degree of attention to detail within area expertise/ownership. Work is performed according to protocol in compliance with rules and procedures and the employee contributes to problem solving activities. The individual takes a proactive approach to their learning and development and is beginning to train others.
Key responsibilities:
- Participate in establishment, pre-validation and development of new analytical methods
- Execution of work of increased complexity and breadth in line with expected standards (safety, on time, right first time to the appropriate degree of quality)
- Undertake activities that contribute to the running of the department e.g., equipment ownership and maintenance, documentation (add documentation to others as well)
- Develop an area of technical expertise e.g., equipment, system superuser
- Operation of standard and non-standard, documented processes and techniques
- Escalating issues in a timely fashion
- Reporting results to appropriate audience (presentations, data summaries, reports)
- Developing as an SME in a specific area
- Instrument and software set up for new analytical methods
- Ordering of materials/consumables
Key requirements:
- BSc in a field of relevant scientific/ technical discipline
- Previous experience of using any of the following analytical techniques within method development to include; ELISA, 2D HCP, qPCR, HPLC, CE SDS, icIEF, SPR, Cell based methods, flow cytometry or cell transfection
- Critical data analysis skills to drive good quality and data driven decisions
- Previous experience within a similar role
