Opportunity
We are looking for a Scientist to join our team. This position represents an excellent opportunity for someone looking to drive forward the development of category changing cancer therapies. The successful applicant will be working in a fast paced environment, to deliver strategic research and development goals, and advance an early stage oncolytic virus product for patients.

Responsibilities
- Genetic engineering of oncolytic viruses;
- Optimisation of upstream and downstream processes for virus manufacture;
- Design and execution of cutting edge research projects;
- Make detailed observations, maintain accurate records, analyse data and rigorously interpret results;
- Prioritisation of workloads and coordination of scientific work streams and processes;
- Collation and presentation of research findings at internal meetings;
- Contribution to a range of key strategic documents including: reports and presentations, patent applications, and regulatory filings.
We’re looking for someone that has:
- A PhD in Molecular Biology, Virology, Biotechnology or similar discipline;
- Experienced in cell culture, virus handling and cellular assay development;
- Experienced in design and execution of molecular biology based experiments (e.g. DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, gibson assembly, sequencing, transposons, transfections);
- Experience in upstream and downstream processing (e.g. protein and/or virus purification using AEX-HPLC on AKTA systems);
- Strong team player who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment, and is adaptable to evolving business needs;
- Evidence of impactful research experience;
- High motivation for, and commitment to, research on anticancer therapies and drug discovery;
- Initiative, and a willingness and propensity to take on responsibility;
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; and
- Strong IT skills (including proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and comfort using shared drives.
It would be useful if you have:
- Pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry experience;
- Experience working with oncolytic viruses and/or adenoviruses;
- Experience with next generation sequencing;
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.

Salary: £32,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
