The Role

This is an exciting time to join our team. We are a new pioneering company in the renewable energy sector and we need a Science Assistant/Laboratory Technician to join us as a key member of the team.

The role will involve a wide range of duties working alongside our Head of Science and you will be responsible for co-ordinating and bringing together all the necessary requirements to help and support the team to run smoothly at all times.

You are an excellent communicator and will be able to interact easily and confidently with all members of staff as you will be communicating with anyone outside the business on behalf of the company. Your positive energy, drive and enthusiasm will shine through.

As a team player you understand the need for a co-ordinated cohesive approach to achieve goals to enable a slick operation. You will know how to get things done, will be able to clearly see the result you are aiming for and have the ability to utilise available resources correctly to do this job.

As our Science assistant/Laboratory Technician, you will be working as part of the young and developing science department in our onsite laboratory and in our manufacturing plants. You will be testingsamples of our biofuel and feedstock along with other activities.

Responsibilities

  • Performing analysis on raw materials, our biofuel, and chemical products.
  • Ensuring supplied samples meet our established quality standards.
  • Maintaining associated records.
  • Communicating effectively as required with the other close operational functions: - operations manager, office manager, shift supervisors and bio-technician staff.
  • Testing parameters performed include -Density, simple titrations, Coulometric KF Titrations and performing equipment checks.

About You

You will have the relevant skills to perform this role in the field of science. Will know the best way to organise and manage a lab and office environment effectively and efficiently for the benefit of yourself but particularly for the team of people you work with. You will consistently demonstrate your high level of professionalism with every task you take on and every task you accomplish. So you are able to work comfortably to deadlines and under pressure and will have an excellent ability to manage and schedule tasks which will be delivered on time.
