The job itself
We are looking to recruit friendly and reliable individuals to supervise the safe road crossing of children and adults at various locations across the East Riding.
As part of your role you will be responsible for deciding when it is safe to stop traffic, using the crossing patrol sign, to give clear signals to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. You may also have some involvement in road safety training delivered to school children.
This is a rewarding and respected role within the community that is appreciated by parents, children and road users. The weekly hours range between 4 - 8 hours which makes this an attractive opportunity for retirees, part time workers, students and self-employed people as it can fit in around other commitments. You will need knowledge of the Highway Code but you will be provided with full training. You will also be provided with all the equipment required to carry out the role.
As this role involves vulnerable people appointment is subject to a DBS check.

- South Cave, Market Place – 08:25 – 09:00 & 15:25 – 16:20(Monday – Friday)
- Hutton Cranswick, Main Street – 08:30-09:00 & 15:00-15:30(Monday – Friday)
- Holme on Spalding Moor (outside School) – 08:30-09:00 & 15:15-15:45 (Monday – Friday)
- Snaith, Pontefract Road – 08:20-09:05 & 15:20-15:50 (Monday – Friday)
- Fangfoss (outside school) – 08:30-08:50 & 15:10-15:30 (Monday – Friday)
