About The Team:
Hounslow Council is looking for a highly skilled individual to join our Team of dedicated School Attendance Support Officers. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team working with schools, young people, families, and other agencies to identify barriers to attendance and causes of school absence. The Team is responsible for promoting equality of opportunity for all children to enable access to appropriate educational entitlement.
Key Responsibilities:
1.To advise schools on pupil absence and the monitoring of attendance for all pupils.
2.To signpost appropriate targeted support to families and children which enables them to engage fully in education provision.
3.To contribute to multi-professional meetings
4.To visit children and families in their own home to establish reasons for non-attendance and to ensure safeguarding.
Your Skills :
1.You have experience of working with data sets, creating and updating databases, accurate record keeping and general administration, with a proven ability to utilise a range of computer software, and have a working knowledge of the principles of information governance.
2.You are organised and efficient and have experience of working under pressure to strict deadlines and prioritising workload, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
3.You work confidently with colleagues, demonstrating positive values, culture and behaviours and a flexible approach to work, ensuring the best outcomes for the service.
4.You have excellent verbal and written communications skills with an ability to communicate and promote inter-agency co-operation to ensure a holistic approach to pupil out of school issues.
