- 2 years related experience in a Healthcare environment (preferred) but not required
- Prior medical insurance experience (preferred)
A successful Appointment Scheduling Specialist will
- Require strong customer skills
- Have good oral and written communication skills
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
- Be a team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Schedule all inpatient and outpatient surgery and medical procedures, tests and studies by the physician
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Appointment Scheduling Specialists Process
- Responsible for answering phone calls and scheduling patient appointments
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments and instructions for procedures and test.
- May collect fees such as co-pays/ co-insurance, gathers insurance information and patient personal data
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
- Be a team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
