Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in-patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Nearly 4,200 physicians, representing more than 80 medical specialties and subspecialties have privileges across the Orlando Health system, which employs nearly 22,000 team members. Position Summary
The scheduling coordinator is responsible for clinical registration, scheduling and coordinating cardiology appointments in the office including but not limited to office visits, support care visits and diagnostic imaging.
- The scheduling coordinator will efficiently and accurately schedule/coordinate cardiology appointments in the office including but not limited to office visits, support care visits and diagnostic imaging.
- Efficiently and accurately gathers and inputs patient/guarantor demographic and financial information
- Maintains basic understanding of the medical needs during the screening process for scheduling an appointment
- Provide accurate information of department/procedure specific scheduling criteria to expedite patient preparation, arrival location and time.
- Be proactive with all customers by actively listening, showing a caring attitude, and offering alternatives when necessary.
- Efficiently and accurately registers patient

- Communicate regularly with providers, nurses, patients, and all other departments.
- Consistently and constantly reviewing the schedule daily and communicates all changes to providers, staff, and other departments.
- Consistently meets departmental goals for productivity, quality and customer service standards set by Orlando Health. Responsible for entry of office patient charges as assigned.
- Participates in department and/or corporate process improvement activities serving as a resource on patient flow.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
- Completes work orders and communicates with engineering regarding problems with the area.
- Assists in care and maintenance of department supplies, equipment.
- Ensures that all faxes are sent to the appropriate department and personnel.
- Maintains department records and files as required.
- Completes all mandatory education.
- Attends in-services/meetings as required.
- Performs other duties assigned as they relate to the quality of patient care and unit maintenance.
High school graduate or GED required.
Licensure/Certification
None.
Experience
One (1) year of customer service based experience to include retail, hospitality or other related fields required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office
