Alba Orbital is looking for a Manufacturing/Production Manager to join our PocketQube Satellite engineering team. We are looking for someone with a strong High-tech background, with proven experience in establishing manufacturing processes. Space industry experience is preferred although not required.

The candidate will have the chance to exercise their initiative, adaptability and drive in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.

We require a dedicated, detail-oriented individual to maintain and improve the daily operations of our Space Lab, where our PocketQube satellites and purpose-built mobile Groundstations move from the design stage to the manufacturing process. We need someone to co-ordinate builds, and to implement and manage efficient improvement in our PQ satellite build process. New design integrations take place frequently, so we require an efficient, streamlined, repeatable process to ensure the quality of our produced satellites.

The individual must ensure the Manufacturing Lab complies with all safety regulations. Our staff welfare and safety are of the highest importance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish goals for production planning and coordinate a plan to meet those goals, utilising scheduling with tools such as Gantt charts etc.
  • Ensure production stays on schedule, meeting timeous launch demands.
  • Assure products meet quality standards through vigorous acceptance testing procedures.
  • Direct an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials, including procurement and stock inventory.
  • Communicate with other departments, such as the Engineering Design Team to implement new features and tests.
  • Improve existing processes and operations
  • Implement new ERP system.
  • Be part of the Alba Team Management group to drive business planning and opportunities forward.
  • Ensure workers and equipment meet performance and safety requirements.
  • Hire, train, and assess the performance of workers.
  • Support workers as questions, concerns, or feedback arises.
  • Supervise staff and delegate tasks to employees.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Management or a related field with hands on training in a High-tech manufacturing facility. Six Sigma methodology would be a preference.
  • Must demonstrate strong technical competencies in manufacturing.
  • Strong Organisational and Communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross functional team relationships.
