The Role: SAP Business Analyst (FICO)
The SAP Business Analyst (FICO) is accountable for the IT solutions in their functional area and supporting the needs of the Business functions. They will work closely with the Business, Solution Managers, SAP functional teams and 3rd party SI’s to ensure the rights solutions are selected and delivered for ABP.
Having a strong background in SAP FICO and an understanding of the ABP Business, their role is mixture of architect, configuration, delivery and support for their area. Guiding the business on best practice within SAP, keeping their skills up to date by working with strategic partners and taking an active role in assisting the Solution Manager to help build and deliver the SAP roadmap.
What the role involves
- Accountability for design, configuration, delivery and support in the SAP FICO solution area
- Build and manage relationships with Business stakeholders, working as one team with Business Process Specialists, Super Users and related Business functions
- Work with the Business and IT to plan and deliver a roadmap of change in Central Systems, focussing on standard, simple and right fit solutions
- Hands on configuration of the FICO module
- Review and prioritise CR demands with the Business
- Manage impact assessment for CRs in their area (getting inputs from all relevant teams), ensuring detailed requirements are captured
- Accountable and responsible for design review, ensuring alignment to architecture principles, roadmap, best practice, providing guidance and approval to build (CR and Project designs)
- Create, write, and validate functional specifications based on business related requirements and the application's capabilities
- Works with the business to agree responsibilities around delivery and change related to release (e.g. ensuring Process maps, business changes activities (comms, training etc) are planned in for delivery)
- Reviews and approves test scope (SIT) prior to testing
- Works closely with the delivery lead(s) to the track status of their delivery portfolio, reports and communicates to team, peers, management and stakeholders
- Analyses data to enhance service delivery, identifying and implementing areas of improvement
- Provide Go Live and Post go-live support.
What you'll bring to the role
- Excellent process and functional understanding of the SAP FICO module including Project Systems
- Experience of SAP FICO project work, integration with other SAP modules including SD and MM.
- Proven track record in project delivery of highly complex and integrated application solutions
- Engagement, communication and stakeholder management skills, including excellent presentation and influencing skills
- Must be self-motivated with passion for delivery and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work as a team with a multitude of different people within and outside of IT to balance demands
- Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations/people under pressure
- Possess a firm belief in the values of customer service and ABP’s core values of openness and honesty, teamwork and respect, along with the ambition to make a difference and exceed expectations.
Desirable
- Knowledge of other SAP modules such as RE-FX, PPM (Portfolio and Project Management), SAP Utilities and Billing, SD and MM
- Knowledge of implementing FIORI apps, T&E and Time Entry
- Knowledge of ABP’s current ways of working (but not constrained by it) and ability to identify business process improvements
- Experience of working with 3rd party vendors as service providers
- Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
