Do you have passion for Sanctions? Do you have experience handling complex Sanctions escalations and managing Sanctions Risk?
As a regulated financial institution, we have a regulatory obligation to establish and maintain policies, procedures, systems and controls to mitigate and effectively manage Sanctions risk.
In this critical role, you’ll be the Subject Matter Expert, providing Sanctions Advisory advice across Line 1 and Central Functions.
You’ll be responsible for providing the best guidance and advice possible, to maintain effective Sanctions compliance.
The difference you’ll make.
Providing SME guidance on escalated and complex Sanctions referrals and Sanctions Policy appetite queries across the Bank
Analysing the types of and outcomes of Sanctions escalations, and providing Sanctions risk qualitative and quantitative information to Senior Management
Advising on Sanctions Policy interpretation, Regulatory advisory, Country risk advisory, Screening, Systems and spike management
Preparing Business support tools (templates, quarterly guidance, briefs), to help and prepare teams to manage Sanctions risk
Leading / point of escalation for all Sanctions breaches, evasions and significant / egregious incidents and issues. Will lead on all Regulatory issues / communications on breaches and frozen assets reports from a 1LOD Sanctions advisory perspective.
Liaising with all BUs, Capabilities and Line 2 Policy to ensure all commitments made to Regulators are assigned, actioned and brought to closure.
What you’ll bring.
We are looking for people who can help shape, influence and transform the bank’s capabilities, ensuring we continue to disrupt financial crimes, and support and enable the right outcomes for our customers .
Previous experience of providing Sanctions related guidance and quality assurance or quality reviews in a similar or equivalent role
Extensive experience of providing complex Sanctions referrals advice
It would also be nice for you to have.
Proven experience of managing Payment / customer and trade related referrals
In depth understanding of regulatory framework of UK financial services, industry trends and best practice
Ability to review critical information and to advise on the correct decision
Track record of developing/managing relationships with key stakeholders

This is a permanent role which can be based in our offices in Milton Keynes, Bradford, Glasgow or Sheffield.
