Sales Team Leader Manchester, England

Butternut Box
Full Time Manchester, England 30086 - 39412 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

An overview:

We are looking for a Sales Team Lead based in Manchester to join our Direct (field) Sales team. This role involves leading a team of sales reps (or Brand Ambassadors as we call them) who attend hundreds of events, trade shows and exhibitions throughout the year introducing potential customers to Butternut Box (think shows like Crufts or Dogfest). This role will suit you if you have experience in face to face sales, working as a supervisor or team leader in a wider sales team and of course you love dogs.

In your first 6 months at Butternut you will:

  • Learn about Butternut's story, mission and wider team org structure
  • Form strong relationships and build trust within your existing team of brand ambassadors
  • Embed yourself into the culture of your Brand Ambassador Team, and then start to add to it as well
  • Work with our sales recruiter to hire, onboard and train new brand ambassadors into your team
  • Start making your own personal sales by regularly attending shows alongside your team (note that these can fall on weekends)
  • Learn how we track targets and measure cost per acquisition and start to practice these processes yourself
  • Form cross department relationships within Butternut (e.g. the events team)
  • Spend time in our London office with our other Sales Team Leads

What we expect from you after the first 6 months:

  • Your team looks to you for guidance on sales techniques, constructive feedback and telling the Butternut story to customers
  • You will feel confident enough to do all your own reporting and analysis of figures
  • You are able to identify any skills gaps within your team of brand ambassadors and create reactive sales training off the back of this to bridge their gaps
  • You understand our customer base and the competitive landscape (and why we are the best!)
  • You are engaging with and driving complex sales projects that impact Butternut alongside other Sales Team Leads, the Senior Regional Sales Manager, the Head of Sales and the Director of Sales
  • You are confident in setting achievable, yet exciting, KPIs for your brand ambassadors
  • You lead your team from the front without needing much guidance

A bit about you.

  • At least one year's experience with face to face, field or direct sales (bonus points if you've worked in the dog food industry before!)
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Confident and ambitious with a positive mindset
  • Ready to take a step into sales leadership
  • Able to commit to weekend event work (with an equivalent day off in the week in return)
  • Huge dog lover of course!

A bit about us.

At Butternut, we put the food back into dog food. We believe dogs deserve to eat the healthiest, most natural and tastiest food with none of the nasties. That's why we make freshly prepared dog food. Cooked like you would at home. Delivered in perfect portions. #LI-Hybrid

We've come a long way since our co-founders (Kev & Dave) hand-delivered the first Butternut Box, we now feed a lot of dogs across the UK - but we want to feed dogs everywhere. And to do this, we need a team of brilliant people who share that ambition to come and work with us.
