The Opportunity
At PETA, we are looking for individuals who want to make a difference. We work with some of the largest businesses on the South Coast to develop the Engineers, Business Leaders, and Technical Experts of the future. Our apprenticeship programmes and corporate training schemes have helped thousands of people further their careers and go on to be hugely successful.
Due to continued business growth, we are now looking to expand our team through to recruitment of a new Training Consultant at our conference centre in Cosham, Portsmouth. This role will primarily focussed on Engineering and Health & Safety enquiry management.
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, This role offers a blend of home based and office-based work (minimum office attendance is 3 days per week).
Your New Role
Joining our team as a Training Consultant, you will be working closely with our sales team to support with customer enquiries relating to our Health & Safety and Engineering training courses. In your new role, your duties will include.
- Build working relationships with employers to promote health and safety courses and services
- Manage customer enquiries ensuring a swift response and proposals
- Interprets accurately customers’ needs using questioning that explores technical content and business aims to build the correct solution for the business
- Action follow up activities to promote future courses, next step options and reminders for training where expiry dates on certificates is due
- Delivering a Training Consultant service to major clients and supporting their training lead management to help them maximise courses to meet their people development needs
- Co-ordinate the training process from diary management of the training team through to evaluating the service delivery with the employer once the training is complete
- Raising Service Agreements for service delivery

At PETA, we can promise you that no two days are the same. To be successful as a Training Consultant, you will need to have excellent communication and partnership building skills. You will require the following skills and qualifications:
- Ability to communicate confidently at all levels
- Previous knowledge of health & safety and/or engineering would be beneficial
- Strong commercial awareness
- Excellent presentation skills
- Sound ability to produce business communication (proposals, letters, promotions)
- A good appreciation of training within the business context
- Organisational skills specifically in managing leads and training interventions
- Full driving license – highly desirable
