We’re currently seeking a dynamic and results driven independent contractor to work on behalf of our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team as a Sales Representative. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving new customer sales opportunities, with the aim of achieving sales targets and increasing revenue.
What You’ll Do & How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop and execute sales strategies aimed at achieving sales targets including mapping out new business opportunities, markets, and customers through various sales channels
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and offer excellent customer service
- Collaborate on Marketing initiatives to develop and execute campaigns that drive HSE sales
- Develop and maintain a sales funnel
- Compile regular reports on sales performance and sales funnel status
- Present HSE solutions to potential customers via video calls, face-to-face meetings, presentations, demonstrations, professional networking, etc.
- Collaborate with members of the HSE team to fully understand new and updated product and service offerings
- Represent H2Safety at industry conferences and trade events
- Cultivate a deep understanding of industry trends, competitor activity, and client needs
What We’re Looking For
- Completion of a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or a bachelor’s degree or two-year diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, Management, or equivalent (a one-year Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) certificate or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) certification with relevant experience will also be considered)
- Business to business (B2B) sales experience
- Health and Safety related work experience (services, contracting, consulting, auditing, etc.)
- Strong Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation knowledge
- Ability to influence decision makers through thought-leadership and demonstrated business acumen
- Ability to maintain a high level of initiative and self-motivation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in multiple formats
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and negotiating skills
- Extensive knowledge in MS Excel; proficient in other MS Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in cross-functional teams
- Willingness and flexibility to travel, as required, with reimbursement for eligible travel expenses
Bonus Experience
- Business to business (B2B) sales experience within the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) industry
- Previous consulting experience
- Experience in mapping out new markets, generating potential client lists, and developing and executing sales strategies
- Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Customer Centric Selling, Solution Selling, SPIN Selling, etc.
- Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) principles and systems
- Completion of, or working towards, the following:
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
- Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST)
- Qualified Health and Safety Officer (CHSO)
- Qualified Health and Safety Representative (CHSR)
- Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC)
- Qualified Safety Representative (QSR)
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO)
- Experience or strong relationships within the following markets: Emergency Management, Fire Safety, Healthcare (hospitals, research facilities, laboratories, large medical care facilities, long-term care facilities), Universities and Colleges, Property/Building Management Companies
Please note that we are seeking an independent contractor for this position that would be on a Straight Commission Plan.

Salary: $29,574.82-$110,609.66 per year
