AMETEK Brookfield is looking for a Sales Manager UK (m/f/d).
Location: Ideally in or near Harlow, UK.
Hybrid role - 2 days working from home.
Field: Metrology equipment, laboratory instrumentation
Role Purpose: The Sales Manager UK represents AMETEK Brookfield products, and works with partners and end-user customers to maximize sales revenue.
The new colleague will conduct sales-oriented activities and oversee the portfolio of laboratory, process viscometers, high-end viscometers, and instruments. They will also conduct marketing activities where needed.
The Sales Manager UK provides strategic leadership in implementing the sales region’s overall sales strategy, policies, and procedures.
Assists in hiring, training, directing, and motivating the region’s sales team to meet the sales objectives.
The goal is to promote and expand the AMETEK Brookfield UK activity that will generate revenues and lead to sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and build sales territories within assigned region.
- Sell and assist the team to develop clear and effective written proposals, quotations, and value propositions for current and prospective customers.
- Meet regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions.
- Drive sales forecast accuracy and funnel growth; report the Point of Sale (POS) data every month and analyze data to find ways to continually improve the go-to-market strategy.
- Establish sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for districts in support of national objectives.
- Maintain and expand customer base by direct sales; build and maintain rapport with key customers; identify new customer opportunities.
- Recommend product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product and service changes; survey consumer needs and trends; track competitors.
- Acquire and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all assigned product lines by attending in-house technical training courses.
- Attend sales meetings and trade shows and reads industry publications to gain knowledge of competitors’ product strengths and weaknesses within assigned sales territory.
- Participate in technical/professional organizations or networking groups, and attend trade shows and/or conferences to obtain leads.
- Prepare sales presentations to explain Brookfield's capabilities. Demonstrate products to potential customers.
- Analyze bid requests and specifications for major contracts/projects.
- Follow up on quotations. Maintain CRM with updated information.
- Manage OEMs, end users, engineering/contracting firms, and distributors in the region.
- Ensure that the region achieves sales at or above target levels.
- Manages all aspects of the assigned territory, e.g., developing Sales Representatives, increasing sales, developing and managing customer relationships, conducting product demos, installations, and customer training.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor´s/ Master´s degree in Science or Electrical Engineering or a relevant similar discipline.
- Relevant industry experience and in-depth knowledge of the market.
- Customer-focused attitude, a minimum of 5 years of successful B2B and B2C sales experience, and regional management experience.
- Strong team player with the ability to work successfully in a matrix organization.
- Fluent in the English language, both written and spoken (a second European language is desirable but not mandatory).
- Ability to translate technical product information into strong customer value propositions.
- Proven and demonstrable successful track record in growing sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients using CRM tools.
- In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, hands-on mentality supporting the team, and outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Attention to detail in maintaining required records and reports together with a compliant track record and mindset.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and work in a team of global professionals.
Travel Expectations:
Travel up to 70% to achieve performance & growth expectations.
