Job description
Under the general direction of the Manager, Service Development - Venue & Community Space Rentals,
responsible for executing a sales plan to achieve revenue goals, event contract administration, overseeing
event coordination and ensure proper event execution to meet client expectation and uphold Venue Rental
standards of operation.
DUTIES:
Under the general direction of the designated manager, the position is responsible for:
Maximize sales revenue from space rentals and third party vendor revenue;
Provide input into and execute sales and marketing plan to achieve revenue goals;
Attend and contribute to regularly scheduled sales and operations meetings;
Identify and qualify leads, solicit new business, conduct outbound sales calls, follow-up phone calls
and attend networking events;
Build and maintain prospects, track leads, report sales metrics;
Cultivate, develop and build relationships with clients, including key meeting, event and wedding
planners;
Attend relevant industry events, designated tradeshows and maintain industry association
membership as requested;
Monitor and respond to email incoming inquiries;
Negotiate contract business;
Work with clients to establish scope and format of events; provide estimates of potential event costs
and amends contract whenever necessary to incorporate cost adjustments;
Conduct thorough follow-up for client satisfaction;
In conjunction with the Event Associates maintain event booking system with respect to booking
calendar, all event related setup details and client database;
In concert with Event Associates supervise events in progress (setup and teardown included) as
needed;
Supervise, guide and provide support to Event Associates in pre-event planning and contractual
issues to ensure smooth execution of events;
Train and supervise the day-to-day activity of the Event Associates including scheduling, assigning
and reviewing of work;
Hire new staff, transfer and promote;
Authorize and coordinate vacation and overtime requests;
Monitor and evaluate staff performance, hear grievances and recommend disciplinary action when
necessary;
Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College diploma in hospitality, event planning or related field or an equivalent combination of
- Minimum 2 years successful event related sales and relevant experience
- Demonstrated supervisory skills

SALARY: $73,493.00 per annum - $91,059.00 per annum (2023 Rates, Wage Grade 5)
