Due to continued business growth, we are hiring a Sales Manager to lead our Special Services Engineering Sales team. This could be the perfect opportunity to progress in your Sales career or that the opportunity to move into a leadership role.

We love working with people who think like we do and as a Sales Manager you will support the delivery of the perfect transaction to both internal and external customers. You will be high performing from a sales perspective and a dedicated leader across the group sales function, ensuring optimal delivery and performance within the team.
We are open to candidates across the UK for this role, as you will be looking after a National Team - however, our Head Office is in Manchester City Centre.
What will I be doing?
The role will involve interacting with customers across our global client portfolio. You will spend your time applying a range of negotiation techniques to drive improved sales for our Special Services Engineering businesses, including Marine, Offshore and Renewables. You will proactively identify ways to improve our customer experience. You will be recognised internally and externally for your technical skills and knowledge, other responsibilities will include:
- Leading the sales team and ensuring a data driven approach to their performance management
- Accountability for achieving sales and margin targets as set from time to time for both team and, where appropriate oneself
- Following agreed processes and procedures to maintain accurate data for all sales opportunities and pipelines
- Holding a deep sales systems knowledge and understanding in order to deliver the highest quality of self and team performance
- Managing internal and external customer interaction in an efficient, courteous and timely manner to achieve a high standard of customer satisfaction
- Planning and managing own workload, and highlighting constraints to Group Head of Direct Sales
- Coaching, developing and supporting team members to continuously improve skills and capabilities
- Using your influencing and negotiation skills to generate leads/business opportunities to support our strategy and expand client relationships

What experience do I need?
Our team consists of the best sales people, you will be results focused, ensuring both you and your team meet all targets through growth, pricing, retention, training, and additional services. Data and technology will be at the forefront of your decision-making process enabling higher performance, and better service. You will demonstrate customer obsession, developing effective relationships with internal and external customers to support in the positive growth of business.
You will:
- Be customer obsessed with a focus on building effective and sustainable customer relationships
- Offer solid sales experience, with enhanced knowledge and experience of effective sales techniques, negotiation, and delivery skills
- Be considerate of others and passionate about leading and developing a successful team
- Be results driven- understanding the importance of target delivery and supporting the team in achieving this
- Have a thorough understanding of the BES Group, our disciplines, services and offerings
- Use data and technology to support growth and positive service
- Ideally you will have experience in an engineering or technical sales environment
- Industry sector knowledge (could be land, maritime, offshore)
- Be focused on the perfect transaction
