About the Role:
We have an opening for the role of Sales Manager for our Machine shop located in the industrial area of SE Calgary. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the executive team, the Sales Manager will be responsible for dealing with customers and vendors, creating new sales, generating business, and overseeing the overall manufacturing process of our machine shop. The right candidate will have experience with outbound sales, exposure to large industrial and manufacturing contracts, extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication, and will be familiar with a broad network in multiple industries.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the full sale cycle (prospecting/qualifying leads, presenting product & service offerings, negotiating purchase orders, and closing the sale).
- Responsible for managing customer communications from the first point of contact through to after-sale support.
- B2B Sales and Development.
- Maintaining a $5,000,000 sales base goal.
- Manage customer expectations to ensure high satisfaction ratings for the company's products and services.
- Support in the collection of payments from customers.
- Coordinate new business with prospective customers, vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing and operations team to ensure optimized production and timely delivery of products to customers.
- Able to perform sales analysis and sales management of a rapidly growing Alberta manufacturing enterprise.
- Maintaining sales pipeline to ensure accurate and adequate lead inflow to reach targeted sales objectives.
- Educating stakeholders on the company's brand and building strong brand awareness in target markets.
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets required for manufacturing proposals.
- Conduct negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure a fair bargain for goods and services.
- Implement action plans to ensure cost-effective and high-quality production.
- Produce reports of manufacturing operations which they present to company management to update them on expended resources.
- Contacting potential clients to gain market knowledge, as well as determine which features customers are seeking in existing or new products.
- Maintain relationships with existing customers, vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Overseeing overall shop schedule, maintaining dashboards for workflow, and streamlining efficiency
- Handling quoting, procurement (material), and tendering.
- Communicating regularly with Form-Tech to understand sales, goals, quoting, and processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Management: 5 years or more (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Sales Experience (oil and gas, energy sector, or manufacturing industry experience is considered an asset).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, combined with the ability to take initiative, establish priorities, and carry projects through to conclusion in a timely manner.
- Proven strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to function effectively in a team environment, establish trust, gain the confidence of others in the organization, and interact professionally with personnel at all levels within the organization.
Hours/Shift:
- Must be able to work full-time hours
- Monday to Friday
- Workload to fluctuate, depending upon the Company’s business requirements and priorities.
- This is an on-site position
- Some evening and weekend work may be required in order to comply with professional obligations or to meet project deadlines.
Wage:
- Base salary(based on experience) + commission on new business
