Job description
We are in search of a service-led, dynamic sales manager to assist the Head of Africa Travel Design in steering the expanding Africa Sales Team though the company’s next stage of growth and beyond. This new role - dedicated solely to sales performance and reporting directly to the Head of Africa Travel Design - will create and nurture a safe and inclusive environment developing the sales team individual skills and enabling them to perform at their best.
Who you are:
- Has previous sales manager, sales coaching or team leader experience in a travel sales environment
- Exceptional communicator both written and verbal
- Experienced in working to targets and monitoring performance through CRM
- An analytical head for numbers, booking trends and sales metrics
- Loves to be in the detail while considering the bigger picture
- Dynamic and adaptable to change while not losing targeted focus
- Self-aware and approaches each day with a growth mindset
- Able to actively listen and demonstrate empathy and self-awareness
- Experience in client-facing service-oriented roles
- Service is driven while always considering a positive Impact
- Positive and approachable inviting feedback and input from others
- Ideally has traveled to Africa but not essential
- Ideally has worked in a Luxury Tailor Made environment but not essential
What you’ll be doing:
- Create and nurture a safe and inclusive environment where your team members feel listened to, challenged and supported to perform at their best
- Empower team members to do their best work through facilitation and coaching, allowing each individual to thrive in their own way
- Analyse available data, sales metrics and team performance to maximize each enquiry and increase performance end to end
- Work with the Head of Travel Design to increase overall conversion, speed to market and revenue
- Preparing, developing, and supporting team members through challenges, whilst identifying and resolving issues within and across teams when/before they occur
- You will be the point of escalation for any service or emergency issues
- Facilitate sales training and call coaching to the Africa team and also wider business as needed
- Conduct weekly 1-2-1’s and call coaching sessions with your team providing regular feedback and personal growth opportunities
- Assist the sales team throughout the sales process to effectively get bookings over the line

Office Hours: Monday - Friday 10am - 6pm in Shoreditch (typically 3 days in office, 2 days WFH)
Start Date: September 11th
Salary: £42,500 + with a realistic £15,000 OTE
