Job description
We have a great account management team in place, and we want to enhance this with Sales Development Representatives who will establish their own account patches and, when they are ready, move across into the account team.
What is the role?
As a Sales Development Representative at PowerON, you’ll build relationships with customer organisations, from first contact through to closing our first order, continuing to build and manage an ongoing relationship. You’ll generate proactive conversations with prospects, as well as benefitting from leads from internal and external sources, building on the first contact to develop and manage the opportunity through to a sale. In addition, you’ll work with existing customers who may not have bought from us for some time to develop and grow managed account relationships, aiming to sell across the breadth of our service portfolio.
Who are we looking for?
We believe that mindset and strengths are most important. We’re looking for applicants with a genuine desire for a career in sales, bringing drive & determination to stay motivated and persist as you prove to yourself that you can succeed. You’ll need curiosity and eagerness to learn, bringing a genuine interest in the motivators and pains of the customer contacts you’re speaking with, and a desire to build your understanding of our offerings. And you’ll need adaptability; every customer is different, and you’ll need to adapt your message and approach as you go to find the style which works for that person.
In terms of background and experience, we’re flexible. You might be a recent grad, who can demonstrate some work experience, commercial awareness and the desire to hit the ground fast and earn. You might have sales experience, be ready for an industry change, and be able to demonstrate your ability and willingness to learn. Or you may already be in IT. Whoever you are, we’re looking to develop aware & intelligent sellers who focus on outcomes rather than task completion, communicate brilliantly, and have that spark which allows them to excel. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
