Job description
About the role
We are a thriving company in financial services with big expansion plans over the coming years and to support these plans we are looking to grow the existing sales team by bringing in additional experienced hires to support the growth.
As a sales consultant, you will be experienced in either at working in sales or working within financial services or, ideally, both! You will have a solid track record of performing in a target driven environment and be able to provide a consultative sales approach. Our aim is to chat with advice firms, find their pain points and provide solutions to help them grow and thrive.
Whilst leads are generated by our marketing team or sales support, we’d also expect an element of prospecting to be done by our consultants to find new firms to work with and support. Our sales consultants are given regional ‘patches’ with banks of existing clients to nurture and find new prospects. You will report into the Head of Sales and be supported by a sales support team who will help with booking meetings, lead generation, the hand over to operational departments and CRM management. Most of the business development will be done remotely and online, however, you will be expected to attend meetings and events with clients where necessary.

Key is the ability to demonstrate how you can help a client, or prospective client, with their business. This could be demonstrated through prior sales experience, and target achievement. Or it could be demonstrated by having worked in financial services and understanding deeply the challenges faced by financial planning firms. We are happy to provide training for any skills gaps to ensure you are an all-round but are looking for a self-starter who is not afraid to roll their sleeves up and hit the ground running when it comes to finding new business.
In particular, we are looking for;

- Self-motivated to ensure the full potential of the role is achieved.
- Pre-empt issues and provide solutions.
- Experience of working with a CRM system and other software is desirable, but not essential.
- Able to quickly learn our company products and service offerings, features and pricing.
- Stay up to date with industry news and best practices.
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
