SALES ASSOCIATE POSITION
Hancocks London is a renowned and prestigious jewellers located in Mayfair. With a rich heritage spanning over 170 years, Hancocks has established itself as a destination for exquisite and exceptional jewellery pieces. Known for their craftsmanship and attention to detail, Hancocks offers a diverse range of jewellery, including diamond engagement rings, antique and signed pieces, as well as contemporary designs.
Hancocks are seeking a customer-focused Sales Associate to join their team. This position requires a passion for luxury jewellery, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to sales. The Sales Associate will report directly into the Gallery Manager and will be involved in all aspects of the day to day running of the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly assisting the Gallery Manager on a daily basis for smooth running of the
Gallery and sales
- Provide a welcoming service to each individual who enters the shop
- Help facilitate jewellery sales by assisting customers with their jewellery selection, and showcasing an understanding of the product range
- Maintain a luxurious shopping environment, ensuring displays are well-presented and merchandise is properly showcased. Includes the setting up and packing away of jewellery displays each day, with a keen eye for presentation and detail
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including handling of the multiple forms of payment
- Taking a handling role of the Hancocks Signet Ring range including liaising with workshops and managing the manufacturing process from sale to delivery
- Act as an ambassador of the Hancocks brand with a thorough knowledge of the brands services and history
- Excellent communication skills with customers (written and verbal) including effectively responding to client email enquiries directly, or forwarding to relevant members of the Hancocks team
- Assist with packing and shipments, including preparing paperwork for goods and keeping clients updated with the status of their item
- Adhere to strict security protocols at all times to keep staff and stock protected
- Show a genuine passion for luxury jewellery and willingness to learn
- Running general day to day errands, including getting lunch for all members of staff
The ideal candidate has:
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably in the luxury jewellery sector
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly, approachable demeanour and a passion to deliver exceptional customer care
- An ability to work dynamically within a small team and demonstrates a ‘team player attitude’
- An eye for detail and great organisational skills to help keep the shop floor running smoothly

Salary bracket for this position is between £25,000 - £30,000 per annum. Working days are Tuesday through to Saturday.
