We are a small, family-run Jewellery and pawnbroking business in the heart of Croydon that has been in operation for over 20 years. We are looking for a new member to join our small team. As well as new jewellery we also sell pre-owned jewellery and watches. We offer a pawnbroking service which is fully regulated by the FCA. We also buy scrap gold and offer an excellent jewellery repair service alongside replacing watch straps and batteries for our customers. We also sell jewellery online, on a number of different platforms, as well as in-store.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a friendly and dedicated sales assistant who can provide excellent customer service. The candidate must know the importance of listening to customers as well as understanding their needs not only so that they find the perfect product but also in order to solve their wishes and needs. Ideally they would have had some experience of customer facing sales environments. A knowledge of the jewellery industry is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given. You should have a good work ethic, enthusiasm, willingness to learn and work well as an individual as well as part of a team. Social media skills alongside a good knowledge of eBay and excel would be beneficial. Trustworthiness and reliability are paramount.

Job role:

• Actively welcome our customers in a confident manner
• Ensure the jewellery window display looks attractive for our customers to motivate attention and achieve sales
• Experience gained within a jewellery or retail environment preferred, not essential as full training will be provided.
• Using social media to photograph and promote our products and services
• Use of excel spreadsheets to record daily sales and stock levels
• Use of our pawnbroking system
• Provide advice and recommendations about various products for sale
• Deal with posting and packaging of our daily online orders
• Advise customers and deal with their jewellery/watches brought in for repair and provide estimates
• Purchasing scrap gold and other jewellery items
• Dealing with our pawnbroking customers
• Being friendly with customers

Shop Opening Hours 10.00am - 5pm, Monday to Saturday

SALARY: Market competitive salary

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £21,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
