An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Assistant to join the team at Cornwall Baby Store. This will primarily be based in the St Austell store but cover to the Penryn store may be required as and when needed.

Cornwall Baby Store is going through an exciting expansion and opening a second store in St Austell and are looking for someone to join their team.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting customers as they enter the store and providing excellent customer service, advising and assisting customers on products throughout the store
• Maintain a clean store and ensure merchandise is presented in an appealing manner
• Serve customers and deal with queries
• Conduct customer transactions and process cash/card and online payments
• Update customer data base as required
• Handling product returns and payment refund request
• Handling complaints or forwarding serious issues to the manager
• Report any inventory or service issues to management
• Promote products based on Company directives
• Arranging products on shelves, promotional displays and window displays
• Unpack and sort stock deliveries
• Managing product inventory at the store
• Maintain and update administration in accordance with current procedures

About you:

• You will be highly motivated and have a desire to deliver excellent customer service
• A proven ability to work well within a team and use own initiative
• Ability to adapt to frequent change and a high pressure environment
• Experience in a customer service role with face-to-face customer contact is desirable
• Experience in a retail environment is desirable
• Experience using till systems is desirable but not essential

The role:

• This is a part time position for a minimum of two days per week, with flexibility to cover holidays as and when needed
• Salary: £10.42 per hour
