About the Position:
We are looking to recruit a full-time, permanent Sales Advisor located at our Taunton store to help, serve and advise customers and assist in maintaining a well-presented store.
The store is currently open Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm and working hours are 9.15am-5.30pm.
Previous experience in the jewellery and watch industry not required, however, experience of providing outstanding customer service is beneficial.

Main duties and responsibilities include:
1. To welcome customers within the showroom area, to assess their needs and wants, to close sales and project a positive image of the company;
2. To process payments by cash, cheque or card, to place orders, liaise with suppliers and customers, track orders and check goods;
3. To identify and follow up sales leads and actively develop working partnerships with key customers or potential customers;
4. To ensure that the company’s customer care standards and quality control procedures are followed including checking and cleaning the showroom regularly, identifying hazards and taking action to resolve these;
5. To attend the update meetings and to contribute ideas for increasing sales, customer service and efficiency;
6. To take order details, provide advice and handle general enquiries via the telephone or email in a prompt, friendly and efficient manner;
7. To assist with administrative tasks such as processing invoices and cash sales receipts, maintaining records and data-entry;
8. To build a comprehensive knowledge of products and to keep updated with changes in product and store procedures;
9. To handle customer complaints in a calm, non-confrontational and courteous manner. To take responsibility for ensuring follow-up actions are taken and that the Directors are promptly informed.
10. To undertake training and to assist in training other or new members of staff as required.

The individual should be someone who is reliable and has the enthusiasm and determination to support the company’s daily demands and challenges as well as meeting their own goals within the role. They should be self-motivated to fulfil key tasks and responsibilities to the highest of standards.
Someone who is able to build and retain relationships with existing and new customers and to meet and, where possible, exceed customer expectations. You must be able to show willingness to display a good understanding of the company’s brand image, products and services you will market and promote. Michael Spiers provide an extensive training package so the right person will also have an interest in their own personal development and aspire to develop and enhance their position within the company.
We are looking for someone with excellent customer service experience and skills, who is confident at dealing with a variety of different customers in potentially challenging circumstances.
Someone who has a high standard of communication skills and can work as part of a team as well as on their own.
Someone who will demonstrate competent decision making and show accountability for the decisions made and are able to make decisions that will be benefit both the customer and company on a sales and financial level.
