SALEROOM PHOTOGRAPHER
Reports to: Senior Photographer / Saleroom Manager
Main purpose:
- To present the business in the best possible light via high quality photography of all auction lots
- Assist Senior Photographer / Saleroom Manager in all auction house processes
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The following duties are not shown in order of priority or frequency, nor is the list comprehensive, but rather an indication of the type and level of duties expected of the post.
1. Photographing auction lots to ensure they are presented in the best way possible using creativity and imagination, varying from large furniture items to small jewellery pieces
2. Editing and retouching images with an eye for detail to ensure consistency and high quality at all times using Adobe Photoshop
3. Helping the sale room team with efficient storage of auction items
4. Assist the sale room manager with setting up the room for viewing prior to auction days
5. Any other duties as directed by the Saleroom Manager or delegated authority.

- Appropriate referral of queries to the Saleroom Manager
Communication skills Liaison with key personnel to maintain awareness of upcoming sales and viewings
- Feedback from colleagues and clients
Auction Room The auction room is ready for each auction, clean and tidy with the appropriate catalogues available * Dealing with client queries quickly and professionally
- Setting up the sale room for viewings
Team skills Forming effective working relationships with colleagues
- Assisting colleagues without being prompted
- Feedback from colleagues
Purchasers’ items Treating all sale items with care to avoid damage or breakages
- Arranging efficient storage of items
Essential skills and qualities:
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and photographing with light and soft boxes in a studio setting
- Able to lift and manoeuvre large, bulky items
- Problem solving and a positive attitude
- Word processing and computer skills
- Ability to work in a busy environment
- Meeting deadlines and prioritising effectively
- High levels of self-motivation and enthusiasm
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the business
- Willingness to train and manage your own professional development
- Ability to use initiative and be accountable for your decisions

Salary dependent upon expertise and experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £21,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
