Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Shift Manager to be based at our Sainsbury's Distribution Centre in Northampton. This challenging and interesting role will appeal to an individual with experience, drive, determination and enthusiasm.
This role is any 5 days from 7 and is the late shift, 14:00-22:00.
The salary is £41,000 - £43,000 depending on experience.
How you will contribute?
- To Manage the shift performance of the warehouse/transport operation to consistently meet the requirements of the Client, in line with agreed service strategy to their network;
- To work closely with department heads and manage the areas in line with the site strategy.
- To manage all shift warehouse/transport resource and activities to ensure that budgetary/financial KPI’s, and legislative/procedural and contractual commitment are met;
- To assist in developing a culture of continuous improvement to drive best-in class activity and operational excellence, in line with PCDR objectives;
- To ensure that the warehouse/transport operation is collaboratively managed across shifts
What you will bring?
- Previous management experience of high volume warehouse operations, preferably multi-temperature food environment
- Successful delivery of operational and service performance in line with Health and Safety excellence and KPI’s
- Experience of people leadership include direct management and development of an operational management team
- Evidence of continuous improvement in operational performance (inc. Health and Safety) and driving site culture and the engagement of colleagues.
- Previous experience/knowledge of Red Prairie warehouse management system would be an advantage
- Experience of management within a unionised environment
- Their commercial understand and cost control management of warehouse operations
- Excellent customer relationship skills with the ability to communicate effectively to key groups
