An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Royal Marsden’s Quality & Patient Safety department. This Band 4 role will have a particular focus on administrative support for the Patient Safety team, including using Risk Management systems such as Datix to produce regular reports and action validation requests. The role will also provide pooled administrative support for the wider department as and when needed.
The successful candidate will regularly liaise with colleagues of varying levels of seniority throughout the Trust and occasionally with external agencies, therefore a high-level of professionalism and communication skills are required for this role.
- The post holder is one of the administrators who will support the Quality & Patient Safety team, providing essential support for the corporate responsibilities of the department, including arranging panel meetings, producing monthly incident reports and supporting the risk assessment process.
- To provide secretarial support for relevant governance committees
- To work with several IT systems and must be proficient in their use to meet the needs of the department.

- Patient Safety & Risk Management support – Incident reporting system (Datix), Risk register system (Pentana) and risk assessments:
- Provide support and guidance to users and respond effectively to queries/issues associated with Risk Management Systems – particularly assisting staff who have locked themselves out of Risk Management systems.
- Help maintain quality of data entry, ensuring accuracy and appropriate management of sensitive/confidential information relating to staff, patients and visitors and users access.
- Assist the Trust Risk & Safety Lead by providing incident data to assist with audits, trend identification and report production.
- Produce monthly incident reports (using Datix to extract data and Excel to manipulate data) as requested and within agreed timeframes
- Providing staff with personal incident information to meet their validation requirements.
- Co-ordinate the delivery of specialist training for Risk Management Systems for all staff and assist with the production of training material for the Risk Management Systems.
- Maintain the departmental booking and logging system for risk assessments, keeping the spreadsheet up to date and co-ordination of risk assessment bookings in a timely manner.
