- 10+ years as a department lead with extensive experience working cross-functional to create and implement new processes, policies and procedures for a large organization.
- 5+ years of experience in Health & Safety Management with a working knowledge of entertainment industry process including: physical production, Features, Television, Unscripted, facilities management and vendors.
- 5+ years of experience managing a team of H&S professionals.

We are seeking a leader of the global Health & Safety team. The Global Head of Health and Safety will lead a team of health and safety professionals who oversee and support global productions for Amazon Studios. The position will work closely with internal partners, including Production, Post-Production, Production Finance, Legal, Risk Management and Creative Development teams. You will also evaluate new production safety related offerings and provide advice on potential risks and issues in a wide range of safety management areas.
Key job responsibilities
Lead the Global H&S team's day-to-day operations, and support the goals of the business from a health and safety perspective.
Maintain, further develop, and improve Amazon Studios' various health and safety policies, providing guidance to internal and external teams, and oversight, to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon Studios' health and safety policies.
Drive and develop safety services to Amazon’s global productions and Studios-related facilities worldwide.
Evaluate Production Safety programs in an effort to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
Help ensure production teams are aware and knowledgeable of their responsibilities.
Work directly with production teams in the planning and execution of all production related activities: assessing safety needs, securing appropriate vendors, and traveling to remote locations as required.
Coordinate with 3rd party producers to evaluate, advise, and guide safety policies, and production-related activities.
Lead the Amazon Studios Health and Safety team as the global studio continues to scale.
Oversee and direct the development and distribution of production health & safety, environmental and other safety guidelines.
Respond to, and investigate emergencies, incidents, and accidents.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with industry safety organizations, employee representatives and governmental regulatory agencies as appropriate.
This role will require domestic and international travel on an as-needed, and self-directed basis in coordination with the Head of Production Operations.

- Experience in a lead Health and Safety related role at production company, network, studio, or corporation.
- Experience and knowledge with/of International Studios and Safety practices.
- In-depth understanding of production process including structure, terminology, equipment, techniques, etc.
- Experience with corporate health and safety programs.
- Experience/familiarity with international productions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills; ability to oversee multiple inactivates simultaneously.
- Experience managing complex projects across multiple international locations.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $149,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $277,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
