Job description

We’re looking for a Safety, Health and Environmental Advisor to join our National Grid Electricity Distribution Alliance. A role based from home but with regular visits to oversee the safety of our sites covering the Midlands and South West. Within this role, you can enjoy knowing that you not only manage projects that are beneficial for our employees but also help provide power to the local community - be a part of the future and be a part of it today.

Location: We can offer the flexibility to work from home, with visits to site and offices in the National Grid Network in the Midlands and South West.
Contract: Permanent - Full Time. Flexible and part-time hours may be available if desired, just let us know.
Salary: £30,000 50 £45,000 depending on experience + car or allowance (£4,500)



Responsibilities

As a SHE Advisor, you’ll be working within the NGED Alliance for Kier Utilities (Water & Energy), supporting our site teams in ensuring safety standards are upheld and to advise on minimising and avoiding risks around day-to-day work which will contribute to NGED's aim to provide power to the local area. Nothing is so urgent that we cannot take time to do it safely.



Your day to day will include:

  • Actively promoting Safety, Health and Welfare, leading and setting a good example to other employees and stakeholders.

  • Working closely with the operational teams in carrying out their roles and SHE responsibilities.

  • Assisting the operational teams in developing Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.

  • Conduct regular and robust health and safety Inspections & Audits.


What are we looking for?

This role of SHE Advisor is great for you if you:

  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence.

  • NEBOSH certificate in occupational health & safety

  • Membership of relevant professional institution (e.g., IOSH, IEMA)
