Description
- Responsible for addressing the supported systems safety requirements throughout the acquisition life cycle. Requirements includes hardware and software, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) design considerations of systems engineering.
- Work closely with the Product Office, project technical leads, functional management, customers, and the Ranges to perform Systems Safety processes, analyses, and reporting including:
- Support the development documentations and preparation for System Engineering Plans, Programmatic Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Evaluation, Test and Evaluation Plans as well as DOD 5000 Milestone documentation.
- Define safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain project Systems Safety Program Plan(s)
- Perform safety analyses to identify potential hazards, mitigations, and risk, such as Fault Tree Analysis and Failure Mode & Criticality Analysis review.
- Generate or provide input into various reports such as Hazards Analysis Reports and/or Safety Analysis Reports.
- Establish and maintain a Hazard Tracking System throughout system lifecycle.
- Develop Risk Informed Safety Case on the supported system.
- Support customer deliverables and reviews.
- Interface with regulatory and government entities such as Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy, Range Safety, and Environmental Agency.
- Review nonconformance, deviations and/or waivers for impacts to system safety.
Required:
- BS/BA or higher degree.
- 10+ years of directly related experience.
- Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills, and work under minimal supervision.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of an organization.
