Walters & Wolf Glass is currently seeking individuals to fill Safety Coordinator positions in Fremont, California.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with safety managers about the requirements and content for safety meetings, including weekly facilitation of Safety Tailgate Meetings.
- Collaborate with Field and Shop Operations to organize and prepare quarterly safety meeting materials.
- Assist the safety managers and or safety director with project safety requirements and prepare site specific safety plans.
- Collaborating with all plant and field foreman, to ensure safety compliance.
- Work with the safety managers to reduce lost employee time and eliminate hazards.
- Keep a record of all safety training classes, injury documentation, and all safety related materials.
- Coordinate with Field and Shop to maintain and supply all safety equipment.
- Coordinate and facilitate mobile equipment safety training and certification.
- Training of plant and field personnel on all new equipment.
- Coordination with the Shop and Field on all proper safety material applications.
- Train for rough terrain forklifts, vertical mast lift trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, mobile cranes, and hoisting apparatuses.
- Coordinate First Aid/CPR training.
- Host New Hire Safety Orientation.
- Tool specific training and inspection.
- Job Site inspection walks with general contractors, insurance carriers, and OSHA as needed.
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 3+ years as a Safety Coordinator.
- 2+ construction industry background.
- Must be OSHA 500 certified.
