Job description
Are you looking to develop a career in health and safety? Would you like an opportunity to train in a large, complex organisation alongside highly experienced staff?
The Safety Co-ordinator role will provide you with the unique opportunity to develop a career within health and safety. Primarily working within the Safety Office, you will support safety advisors and you will be provided with a structured programme of safety training. You will have the opportunity to engage and assist with safety projects, as well as support Safety Office audits, inspections and events.
In this role you will provide the much-needed combined benefit of administrative and technical support for the more experienced Safety Office advisors. You will play an important part in supporting the Safety Office role in the effective functional delivery of a safe working environment for all University staff, students, clients, contractors, and the public.
In the longer term, this role, with the training and experience it provides, will help you develop skills that could lead you towards a safety role in the Safety Office, other Departments or Colleges at the University or to explore external opportunities in the future.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working or other flexible working arrangements.
