Job Title: Safeguarding Lead
Location: Glebedale School, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent; Term time

Job Purpose
To be the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensure effective policy and practice is in place to ensure the welfare, safety and emotional wellbeing of our young people within the school. To develop and implement effecting safeguarding plans to support students to maximise learning opportunities and overcome learning barriers. To establish functional strategies in all areas of pastoral care. To promote the Equality Act 2010 Protected Characteristics. To develop anti-bullying and discrimination policies and procedures. To lead the school’s strategies on Personal Development and co-ordinate the school’s SMSC offer.

Glebedale School is a special needs school which provides provision for boys and girls aged 7 years and upwards. We provide a nurturing and welcoming environment to SEMH pupils and our curriculum has a keen focus on therapy, education and personal development. Our school aims to help children grow academically, socially and emotionally to enable them to become capable future citizens.
We provide education to 30 pupils from the Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire areas. At our last Ofsted in December 2022, we were rated “Good”.
