Shore Medical is a GP Super Partnership with 6 practices across Poole and Bournemouth. We aspire to offer exceptional care to our 58,000 patients and are innovative in our approach to developing new teams and pathways to ever improve how general practice is delivered. We have a friendly and supportive team of more than 200 staff, with over 40 GP’s, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Nurses, Mental Health specialists and our range of administrative staff. Situated in beautiful Dorset with the prestigious Blue Flag beaches of Bournemouth and Sandbanks, the Jurassic coastline and a wealth of attractions and countryside to visit we are lucky to be in such a fantastic area.
We are seeking an experienced Safeguarding Administrator to provide accurate, efficient and punctual safeguarding medical administration support to Partners, GPs, Registrars and Practice Nurses, at our Poole Road Medical Centre in, Dorset on a permanent, part-time basis.
The successful post holder will undertake a Standard DBS check and be subject to pre-employment checks.
Job responsibilities:
· To provide a high-quality safeguarding administration service to the practice and its patients.
- Processing relevant safeguarding paperwork.
- Coding information into the practice clinical system.
- Scanning and assigning incoming safeguarding documents.
· Update patient records in a timely and accurate manner.
· Keep GPs informed of updates as necessary.
· Liaising with healthcare professionals, staff members, patients, solicitors and other external organisations to assist with the resolution and administration of queries.
· To help develop new ways of processing incoming safeguarding paperwork and correspondence, including coding.
· Answering the telephone and assisting receptionists with queries as required.
· To work confidentially at all times.
· To undertake additional tasks as required by the line manager or GP Partners.
· Running practice safeguarding audit reports.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Proven administration experience in a GP/NHS department environment would be highly desirable.
· Have or be willing to work towards becoming level 3 safeguarding trained.
· Educated to high standard of GCSE in Maths, English language
· Strong IT skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of SystmOne is desirable.
· To have tact and diplomacy in direct and indirect emotional circumstances
· Knowledge of the NHS an advantage
· Able to get on with others and be a team-player in a sometimes, pressurised and time-sensitive environment
