Continuous At Sea Deterrence is one of the Royal Navy’s key outputs. 43 CDO delivers protection to this capability as well as providing support to Commando Force’s operations. Within 43 CDO, the G1098 store provides crucial logistical support to the unit, enabling operational commitments to endure whilst assuring the unit’s stock holdings. As storekeeper you will be firmly involved in the effective management of the store in direct support of the 43 CDO mission.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
The primary role of the storekeeper is to work within the G1098 store. You will conduct receipt of goods in and issue of goods out; issue of kit to individuals; distribution of material to Squadron registers; and will liaise with other departments to arrange collection of stores. Furthermore, you will contribute to the effective management of stock and the day to day running of a lively store in direct support of 43 CDO’s mission.
Responsibilities
- Primary purpose is to work within the G1098 Stores Office, co-ordinating all paperwork for the department ensuring the adherence to accurate and correct accounting procedures.
- Be proficient in the use of current logistics information systems software and all accounting processes.
- Ensuring that all vouchers are posted and checked as per current regulations and guidelines.
- Ensuring that all individuals with personal responsibility for holdings are accurately recorded and specimen signatures held. Holdings are to be mustered 6 monthly or on change of custodian. Ensure that relevant prints are prepared for these musters.
- Inputting demands with the correct standard priority code.
- Ensuring that all typing and correspondence is checked and that any errors are corrected prior to dispatch or presentation to OC Logs or RQMS.
- Conduct manual handling of stores and deliveries as and when required.
- Ensuring that the office area is kept clean and tidy after each day’s business is completed. They are to ensure that all paperwork is properly and securely stowed away.
- Being compliant with current SHEF regulations within the working environment.
- Carrying out any other tasks that may reasonably be asked of them by the Office Manager or RQMS.
- Being compliant with current Health&Safety at Work regulations within their working environment and taking reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

Qualifications
Must be comfortable working with standard Microsoft applications, phone communications and online meeting applications (Skype/ Teams).
Desirable
Experience in working in a Stores/ Warehouse Environment.
Experience in use of current logistics information systems software.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
