Rotating Equipment Engineer

Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery located in North Lincolnshire is a key asset for Prax and is a world-class supplier of quality fuels. Commissioned in 1968, it has the capacity to process up to 5.4 million tonnes of crude oil per year (109,000 barrels a day) and currently employs around 415 staff in addition to a similar complement of daily contract personnel. The refinery extends over 500 acres and incorporates some of the most advanced refining and conversion processes in Europe, supplying products by road, rail, sea and pipeline.
The refinery is a key strategic asset within the Prax Group, and we are investing heavily for the long term and are actively looking for new talent that can support our ambition.
We are looking for a Rotating Equipment Engineer with extensive knowledge and experience of rotating equipment to join the Maintenance team at Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery.
The key responsibilities will include the specification, spare part management, contractor selection and repair/modification for major overhauls and technical support on a wide range of Rotating Equipment including pumps, turbines and compressors.
Team responsibilities include the day- to- day management of in-house and contractor technicians responsible for maintenance and condition monitoring.
Safety is of paramount importance and candidates will need to be safety focused and able to take the lead in group meetings and audits.
Knowledge and experience of both reciprocating and centrifugal machines is essential as this role must ensure that maintenance work is carried out in accordance with the relevant procedures and engineering standards.
The role will actively participate in the Refinery reliability programme providing technical solutions and driving their implementation to assure the long-term performance of the plant. The role will also encourage and support the application of predictive maintenance, fluid management principles and plant condition monitoring techniques.
The successful candidate will be a proven specialist in rotating equipment providing guidance and direction to staff across the Refinery as well as managing all aspects of rotating equipment including troubleshooting and upgrades.
Candidates will ideally be educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or possess as a minimum an HNC along with the appropriate track record and preference will be given to those with experience in a continuous process environment.
You will be a team player, demonstrating that you are well motivated with strong problem-solving abilities and able to communicate effectively at all levels across the business.
