Job Title: Roofer
PQE: 10 years Experience
Salary: £23,000.00 - £25,000.00
Location: Burnley (Head office) BB12 7TY
Hours: 8:30am to 5pm
The Business
Our Company is part of a Group of Companies specialising in all aspects of property purchase & management. We have offices based in Burnley and in Middlesbrough and manage a large portfolio of properties in both regions. Recently, we have just celebrated our 2000+ property mark as a Group!
We offer a fully client based serviced approach to investing in properties. We acquire properties from the open market, renovate them to a set standard, pass them onto our lettings department for maintenance and management and then re-sell the properties to investors. We retain full management of the property.
We have various different departments, including Property Surveyence, Renovations, Lettings, Maintenance, Rent Collections, Property Management, Legal and Sales & Marketing. We do everything in-company.
Due to our success, we have been featured on the popular BBC TV Show Homes Under the Hammer. The BBC really liked our model and has featured our Company in 3 episodes within a 12-month period - a BBC record! A further 2 episodes were filmed and released thereafter.
The role:
- Carry out roofing repairs and maintenance works
- Liaise with tenants and carry out inspections
- Day to day you will be required to complete smaller repairs to larger instalments on domestic roofs
- Able to repair a range of profiled roofing and cladding systems.
- Able to repair a range of composite panel roof & wall cladding systems.
- Able to inspect composite domestic and residential type roofs for
leaks.
- Can complete all aspects of roofing - Remove old roofs, installs roof insulation, and performs repairs as indicated to leaking roofs. Slate, Tile, Gutter & facia works
- Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out in line with task schedules
- Attend site and carry out reactive repairs as instructed by administration team.
- Any other reasonable duty

- Supervise sub-contractors
- Ensure all trades have a high standard of work
- Responsible for scheduling and coordinating work on site.
- Ensuring work is safely on time and within budget
- Managing equipment and materials required
- Day to day reactive maintenance repairs within occupied domestic houses in the social housing sectorYou will take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. You will also operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas.
As a skilled operative, you will be expected to have a multitude of skills to enable you to perform your tasks. We will expect the candidate to have a background in either plumbing, joinery or plastering are desirable skills.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who can show initiative, can communicate well with colleagues and customers and completes jobs to a good standard. All applicants must have a valid driving license, own van and tools
This is the ideal position for someone who has been self-employed now looking for a full-time permanent role. The individual must be proactive and able to identify issues quickly and remedy effectively.
Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate must have their own transport, ideally a van which can be used and insured for work purposes. We are looking for someone who can show initiative, can communicate well with colleagues, customers and completes jobs to a good standard with longevity in mind.
In the event weather is a factor, we can facilitate other works internally to ensure continuous workflow.
