About This Role:
The Mechatronics Engineer researches, plans, designs and implements production equipment and systems. Under limited supervision, directs and coordinates activities of engineering group including application, fabrication, assembly, start‐up, installation, and operation of this equipment. Exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:
- Researches and analyzes data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application. Develops preliminary design concept including layout and theory of operations using computer‐assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
- Designs electrical, and pneumatic components, may include mechanical applying knowledge of engineering principles and automation technologies. Designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications.
- Develops PLC programming for simple and less complex systems and fixtures. Assists with the programming of 6-xis robots, vision systems and HMI’s.
- Under limited Supervision, directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Reviews project status and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares reports and records on project activities.
- Using knowledge of automated machinery and equipment, able to set up, operate, and troubleshoot machines, equipment, or systems to verify functionality, capabilities, and conformance to customer's requirements.
Education/Training Required and Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience Required and Preferred:
- Three years design and project engineering experience in manufacturing machinery and automated equipment.

- Ability to develop equipment concepts using knowledge of automated machinery, equipment and systems consisting of mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and programmable control systems.
- Able to plan and formulate engineering program, organize, and assign project staff according to project requirements. Ability to coordinate project team activities to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Capable of controlling expenditures within limitations of project budget. Able to evaluate project status and modify schedules or plans as required to meet commitments.
- Able to design machinery, equipment, or systems, applying knowledge of engineering principles and automation technologies including but not limited to component feeding and orientation systems, indexing devices, pick and place systems, sensors, PLC and control logic, and pneumatic devices. Ability to identify and resolve engineering design problems. Able to direct integration of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and logic devices into equipment systems.
- Ability to draft and design mechanical components, subassemblies, and systems using 3D computer aided equipment and software. (Solid Works Preferable) Able to create multi‐view component and assembly drawings. Able to find resources for machining components to meet required deadlines.
- Using knowledge of automated machinery and machining equipment, able to set up, operate, and troubleshoot machines, equipment, or systems to verify functionality, capabilities, and conformance to customer's requirements.
- Ability to travel, domestically and internationally. Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
