Due to continued success and growth an established company within the manufacturing industry has a new requirement for a Robotics Automation Engineer to join their team. Job Summary for the Robotics Engineer:
The position shall provide functionality for process development, manufacturing equipment design, implementation and automation. This person shall provide expertise in the areas of Robotics, machine design, selection, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine operation, clean room technology, equipment/system troubleshooting and factory layout; as well as introducing the latest technology to their factories. Functioning as a project manager and/or team member, this role will communicate effectively across departments and organizational levels to achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities of the Robotics Engineer:
Responsible for supporting the global vision for manufacturing equipment and factory layouts, including the identification of opportunities within manufacturing processes
Create and maintain company-wide design standards and specifications for Automation Equipment & Systems
Work with supply chain to manage the design and equipment procurement for projects (including expansions and major process changes) designs to include: equipment layouts, equipment sizing, equipment specification, equipment selection, mechanical piping drawings, electrical drawings, bill of materials, bid package drawings, etc.
Prepare conceptual & detailed designs for Manufacturing Systems
Support capital projects for all of company manufacturing facilities
Develop and issue bid specifications for RFP's and RFQ's for the Design through Commission of new or rebuilt process equipment and control systems
Provide project management of new, modified or rebuilt machinery. Project management to include: defining scope of work, defining responsibility, defining budget (funding and resources), defining schedule and responsibility for tracking and maintaining schedule and budget. Provide timely project milestone progress reports
Develop and maintain clear and accurate documentation of equipment or processes
Requirements of the Engineer:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar
- Experienced with the collaborative or industrial robotic programming and integration of robots into manufacturing systems. Specific brand of robots not critical
- Significant experience in the design and implementation of custom automated manufacturing systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Lean / Six-Sigma certifications is desirable
- Working knowledge of CAD design requirements
- Knowledge and experience with automated vision and metrology systems
- Experience with automation in a CNC machining environment would be desirable
