Founded in 1910 Scudamore's is Cambridge's premier punt tour and boat hire company. We are now seeking lively, outgoing and aspirational people to promote and deliver our award-winning punt tours of the College Backs.
No punting, guiding or sales experience is necessary as full training is provided.
We’re open all year round and operate a rolling recruitment programme with regular training courses running each month. Flexible working pattern to fit your lifestyle, both full-time and part-time roles are available.
What's involved?
As a River Tour Guide at Scudamore’s you’ll act as an ambassador for Cambridge, giving a warm, considerate and attentive welcome to our visitors. Your duties will be varied but ultimately your role is about 4 things: -
- Delivering a memorable punt tour that is informative, inspiring and entertaining.
- Offering effective and courteous ticket sales within a competitive environment.
- Providing a timely, consistently high-quality service in line with our values and standards.
- Maintaining a safe working environment for all.
What’s the package?
- Potential for £120-240 per day, offering a combination of an hourly rate, fixed rate per tour and uncapped commission.
- You will also keep all your tips from customers.
- Our paid training course is the gold standard for punting operators in Cambridge. Ongoing mentoring is available from our dedicated training team.
- 28 days paid holiday (or pro rata equivalent for part-time workers) per annum and pension contributions.

- Based at premium Cambridge city centre locations.
Hours of Work:
- Flexible working, with both full-time and part-time roles available. You are in charge of your work pattern and are free to work around other commitments.

- Prior experience of working in a customer-facing role.
- Previous sales experience.
- Good availability to work on weekends, bank holidays and school holidays.
