Join us as a Risk Technician within our Customer Response and Streetworks (CR&S) team. Together we’ll protect Scotland’s most precious natural resource: our water.
The CR&S team are involved in the planning and scheduling of customer generated work, including burst repairs, lead pipe renewals and ironworks. We are responsible for ensuring compliance with the New Roads and Steetworks Act (NRSWA).
As a Risk Technician within the team, you will be required to prioritise and plan work to meet customer SLAs, whilst ensuring NRSWA compliance and keeping the customer informed at all stages of progress.
What you'll be doing:
  • Planning, scheduling and managing customer generated planned and reactive work to maximise customer experience and ensure Scottish Water meets all targets, driving continuous improvements in Customer Experience and squad productivity, and communicate updates to customers to ensure we are giving the highest level of service possible.
  • Informing the councils of all planned work on the roads and strive for zero Financial Penalties through close management of all legal notices to ensure Scottish Water and contractors are complying with the appropriate legislation. You will liaise with roads authorities and contractors where necessary to drive continuous improvement.
  • Implementing field resources and managing Scottish Water’s risk-based maintenance programme by creating and implementing maintenance plans that maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of available resources and assets, and managing the risk to the businesses critical assets.
  • Co-ordinating the provision of comprehensive work packs for all planned work activities including site specific hazards, risk assessments, traffic management proposals, utility information, customer requirements and impact on operational activity.
  • Managing the interfaces with customer operations and Alliance Partners ensuring effective working relationship at all times by managing the operational plans and ensuring exceptions are dealt with. You will liaise closely with Alliances to ensure successful jeopardy management of work allowing targets to be met.
What you'll need:
You will have the ability to work in a planned environment and prioritise workloads alongside managing urgent work that may arise. You'll be customer-focused, committed to going the extra mile to ensure excellent customer service is provided. You'll be proactive and driven with the desire to take ownership of the customer journey to ensure highest level of customer experience.
Excellent communication skills are essential in this role, and you will have the ability to drill down to understand the root cause of a problem, work well with other team members and have a desire to embrace change and culture of continuous improvement.
It would be beneficial if you also had a working knowledge of; Aurora (Street Works Register) system, NRSWA (New Roads Street Works Act) legislation, Workflow Management Systems (e.g., Ellipse/Salesforce); Scheduler Systems (e.g. Salesforce) and experience of stakeholder management.

The salary band for this role is £31,380 £43,350 (depending on experience) and it is a full-time position.
