And you get these Red-Hot Rewards from day one!

We’re at our best when we have something to drive us forward, a belief that underlines who we are and what we do. Our Purpose. We want to make people happier about money – and that idea starts with every single one of us here at Virgin Money. Here at Virgin Money, we take a huge amount of pride in what we do, working seamlessly across all areas to achieve the same goals for the business.

This is an exciting time as we stand up our Risk Analytics Centre of Excellence (RACE). Our ambition is to drive forward enhanced modelling capability by providing:

  • Consistency: Modelling choices conducted consistently across models removing incoherence between outputs.
  • Best practice sharing: Advanced modelling approaches rapidly shared.
  • Delivery speed: Ability to load balance across a large, centralised team of similar skill set, building on pre-existing data sets and codes and rapidly engage with system implementation.
  • Efficiency: Consolidated model landscape with re-use of engineered and cleaned data and validated code snippets

You’ll be responsible for providing analytics for model developments as well as in maintenance of current models. The remit is wide and covers all types of models within the IFRS 9 Provisioning landscape. This includes exposure to a range of business areas and covers retail and business banking products and customers. The team’s focus is on the development, validation, management and monitoring of our models and providing first class support to our stakeholders across Risk and Finance.

Day to day you’ll be responsible for:
  • Providing analytics to help scope, design, develop, validate and implement credit risk models, in line with Bank standards and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Completing analysis on provision models currently in operation to ensure they remain fit for purpose and identifying potential enhancements to modelling suites
  • Supporting, maintaining and developing regular processes including monitoring, calibrations, annual reviews and quarterly economic model refreshes
  • Documenting analytics to support recommendation papers to committees and stakeholders
  • Participating in team and wider network discussions across the Bank.
There are a few essentials you need to bring:
  • A numerate degree or equivalent technical experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Some practical experience in understanding and interpreting complex data and analytics
  • Ability and drive to learn coding languages and statistical techniques
  • Some experience in MS Office software, e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Team building mindset
It’s a bonus if you have …. but not essential:
  • Knowledge of economical processes, ideally with some experience of economic time series analysis
  • Involvement in processing and interpretation of data and modelling
  • Experience in building trusted relationships with stakeholders
  • Previous use of statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS, Python, R)

We really need you to have the skills and experience listed in the essentials section above, but the rest is just our wish list. We’d love to hear from you and are on the lookout for like-minded individuals and innovators like you to help push us forward. We’re also transforming how we work to give our colleagues more choice, control and flexibility to live and work how they choose with A Life More Virgin.

Inclusion at Virgin Money
Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do here at Virgin Money. It’s good for you, it’s good for us and it’s amazing for our customers. Now the legal bit…
Living A Life More Virgin allows our colleagues to be based anywhere in the UK (if the role allows it) but we will need to you to confirm you have the Right to Work in the UK.

If we offer you a job and you accept, there are some checks we need to complete before you can start with us. This will include a credit and criminal record check, as well as providing 3 years' worth of satisfactory references.
