This is an exciting time as we stand up our Risk Analytics Centre of Excellence (RACE). Our ambition is to drive forward enhanced modelling capability by providing:
- Consistency: Modelling choices conducted consistently across models removing incoherence between outputs.
- Best practice sharing: Advanced modelling approaches rapidly shared.
- Delivery speed: Ability to load balance across a large, centralised team of similar skill set, building on pre-existing data sets and codes and rapidly engage with system implementation.
- Efficiency: Consolidated model landscape with re-use of engineered and cleaned data and validated code snippets
You’ll be responsible for providing analytics for model developments as well as in maintenance of current models. The remit is wide and covers all types of models within the IFRS 9 Provisioning landscape. This includes exposure to a range of business areas and covers retail and business banking products and customers. The team’s focus is on the development, validation, management and monitoring of our models and providing first class support to our stakeholders across Risk and Finance.
- Providing analytics to help scope, design, develop, validate and implement credit risk models, in line with Bank standards and regulatory compliance requirements
- Completing analysis on provision models currently in operation to ensure they remain fit for purpose and identifying potential enhancements to modelling suites
- Supporting, maintaining and developing regular processes including monitoring, calibrations, annual reviews and quarterly economic model refreshes
- Documenting analytics to support recommendation papers to committees and stakeholders
- Participating in team and wider network discussions across the Bank.
- A numerate degree or equivalent technical experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Some practical experience in understanding and interpreting complex data and analytics
- Ability and drive to learn coding languages and statistical techniques
- Some experience in MS Office software, e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Team building mindset
- Knowledge of economical processes, ideally with some experience of economic time series analysis
- Involvement in processing and interpretation of data and modelling
- Experience in building trusted relationships with stakeholders
- Previous use of statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS, Python, R)
